Academy of Medical Sciences continued the series of events dedicated to the centenary of George Emil Palade, with a scientific symposium.

President of the Academy of Medical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Irinel Popescu said on Friday, on this occasion, that the institution he heads was honored to organize this event.
"First of all, apart from evoking scientist George Emil Palade we organized a scientific session we consider the best way to honor Professor Palade, this scientific session one of the dolphin brain works and the similarities between the human brain and it reminds us that the thesis of Emil Palade was devoted dolphin mesoblastic structure, "said Smith.

He stressed that the past is celebrated primarily on the shoulders of generations that rose today to the highest level.
"We are trying to decipher the meaning of a model that we are building the foundation is an institute which helped George Emil Palade, I would say decisive. Had the chance to work with two amazing collaborators, Maya and Nicolae Simionescu, which he helped to establish this institute. Accordingly, this institute is largely a part of thinking, conceptions level that had George Emil Palade and over time were successfully continued on another line, the endothelial cell line by husbands Simionescu, "said Irinel Popescu.

According to Smith, researchers George Emil Palade potential now exists. He gave the example of Victor Blănculescu and George Calin, two Romanian researchers working in the U.S. and that "have the potential to get a Nobel Prize."

Irinel Popescu said he often speaks highly of cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer's disease, cancer and how you can fight these diseases.
"The horizon of knowledge is far from complete and this concept where we find some of what made George Emil Palade is one of the important perspectives of Romanian research," continued Prof. Dr. Irinel Popescu.

Prof. Dr. Maya Simionescu showed that Prof. George Emil Palade discoveries in cell biology are important because they set the base from which it can move forward to see what happens in diseases.
"Cell biology creates the conditions so that you can understand the pathology of disease, because diseases occur in cells, understanding pathology and what to aim, where altered mechanism modified to aim with treatment. First thing and most important research is the knowledge, the know become master. And that has made Professor George Emil Palade, normal cell biology data was continued throughout the world, including us, to understand disease at the cellular level "highlighted Maya Simionescu.

She said that everyone in the team Prof. George Emil Palade were passionate about their work
